Hi.

Welcome. Stay a while. Make yourself comfortable. Give your heart the freedom to just be here. I hope you leave here feeling a little more real.

2 Year Anniversary @ The Line

2 Year Anniversary @ The Line

July 19, 2016 marks Chris and I's 2 year wedding anniversary. What a whirlwind its been! Spending the first year living the fast-paced life of the East Coast, and then moving and spending the second half in sunny San Diego has made way for so many incredible memories. I have never been challenged to grow, expand, and change this much in my entire life- and oh what a blessing it's been. Marriage brings out the good, the bad, and the ugly. The ugly sounds scary, until you realize it's in those low moments that you get the beautiful opportunity to make something different of yourself. You get to become a better individual with someone else cheering you along the whole way.

This year, we kept our anniversary trip somewhat local and booked a hotel for the weekend in Los Angeles. We got up bright and early so that we could beat any possible LA traffic (which is basically, always inevitable). We had a little bit of time to kill before we could check into our hotel, so we checked out the Broad Museum.

Chris has become more and more interested in photography, and it's been fun to watch him learn. I love his eye for the world around him. Since he has a week day job to go to, he doesn't have much time to edit his photos. But that's fine by me because it gives me a chance to experiment with different editing styles.

Close to the museum was LA's Grand Central Market. We walked through the crowds of people inside and checked out all the food vendors and bars. I wish we were hungry at the time, because it all smelt delicious!

I fell across the Line Hotel's instagram a while back and drooled over their modern interior designs, breath-taking bedroom views, and of course, food scene. When we decided to stay local for our anniversary, this hotel came first to mind. We had a better time than I could have even imagined. Upon checking in, the front desk lady, named Hannah, was warm and welcoming, and once she found out we were celebrating our anniversary, she gifted us an upgrade to a top floor room with the Hollywood sign view.

I fell in love with this hotel and the staff that made our stay so unique. From the courteous front desk, to the waiters & waitresses who kept our mimosas always full, to the pool boys who made sure we had a fresh towel in our hands as soon as we stepped out of the pool- I 100% recommend this hotel!

On Sunday morning we woke up and headed down to one of the hotel's restaurants, The Commissary. It was so light and airy with glass windows for walls. We ordered the buffet with bottomless mimosas and coffee and it was to die for.

Did I mention there was a pool too?? As soon as we arrived we were told there was a "pool party" going on. So we got in our suits and headed out to find a live DJ, numerous bar stations, and a pool filled with people soaking in the sunshine. We came home with some very sun-kissed skin and deep, dark tan lines.

We're only 2 years into marriage, and it's already been my greatest adventure. Thank you Line Hotel for making our anniversary feel like a second honeymoon!
